Monica wins the ROKiT Racing Star Competition 2022

Monica Boulton Ramos & Deagen Fairclough win the ROKiT Racing Stars Competition. Both have the opportunity to enter in the 2023 British F4 with ROKiT.

Monica had a close run two races. Before the first race Monica aimed to convert her 2nd place grid start into a lead position and then pull away. This is exactly what she did, driving a faultless first race to take the win and 25 points. Critically, Chloe Grant finished 2nd, but also took an extra point for fastest lap.
For the second race Monica started on pole, with Chloe Grant in 2nd. Grant managed to take the lead at turn one with a bold move around the outside. Monica never intended to defend too hard, as this would risk a collision. Instead, she planned to push and pressure any lead car, forcing a mistake or making the pass for the win. Monica’s first push mid-way through the race coincided with a push from Grant. As the tyres heated up, Monica backed off to cool the tyres and go again. The second push with 5 laps to go was better timed. Although Monica managed to get the fastest lap, it wasn’t faster than Grant’s from Race 1, and meant Chloe Grant would win unless Monica managed a faster lap or to make a pass for the lead. Monica kept up the pressure, closing to within 0.8 second from Grant. This forced Grant to push on already overheating tyres. Grant pushed too hard out of Hawthornes and ran wide, allowing Monica to take the lead with only 2 laps to go. Monica took the flag, and the 25 points as well as fastest lap for Race 2, securing a dominant and faultless lead in the competition.
